Update 14th March 2012:
We
have been working with the other Partnerships in the Congleton area to
establish and improve cycle routes between the towns and villages in
this area
- Bad News:
Less than
two months after we erected the new cycle shelter for the benefit of
the community, it has been vandalised.
Some time
between
approximately 24th February and 9th March mindless vandals have broken
and slashed the glazing on the shelter. We have estimated that
the
replacement of the glazing will cost over £100 - something the
Partnership can ill afford.
If you know
who was responsible, please contact us (info@hcpartnership.org.uk),
or our Police Community Support Officer (Cheryl.Smith@cheshire.pnn.police.uk);
alternatively call Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111
Update 1st February 2012:
-
After
a great deal of negotiation with Cheshire East Council, we finally
purchased the new Cycle Shelter in December, and it was erected
adjacent to the library at the beginning of January. There's ample
space
for up to 10 cycles, so ideal for parking your bike while you do your
shopping in te village.
- We are also now
working,
with the other Partnerships and Cheshire East, on developing cycling
routes between the towns and villages in this part of Cheshire.
Update 30th September:
- The cycling route
leaflets went out to local shops and the Library in August
- Work continues on
improving routes
- We hope to have a
cycle shelter erected adjacent to the Library before the end of this
year
Update 13th July 2011:
- We are developing a
suggested cycle routes leaflet, which we hope to publish by the start
of August
- We plan to erect a
cycle shelter adjacent to the Library
Update 18th March 2011:
This is a new Project looking at
establishing safe cycling routes throughout the village, together with
improved facilities for cycles within the village.
We have secured £3000 initial
funding from the Cheshire East's Economic Regeneration fund, to get the
project up and running.
